I appreciate the insight.

My son, is paying his dues for the mistakes he made as a young adult. He is in prison at Hightower Prison, in Dayton Texas for robbery. Although many of the offenders are there for sexually related crimes, my son is there for robbery. Today he called me, upset that the eating utensils are kept outside exposed to both the elements to include bird and insect dropping. Often time there is visible bird droppings and insects present as they walk through the line to get their spoon. This strikes me as a health code violation. Do you know if this is common practice? Is this a health code violation? How common is the incidence of new co-morbidities i.e., hypertension and diabetes induced by prison grade food? A salad and healthy options are very limited.
